OSS benefits & blame game

“who to transfer the “blame” to than a price issue.”  ??????

It caught my attention. That is a valid point most people make. We, humans, need someone to blame and like Chris said that if prompt IT support is not available then it would cost more than the proprietary software itself so then why to opt for open source? Otherwise one needs to have highly skilled staff, which is not the case for every business. Asay (2007) illustrates the benefits of both over each other in the figures below, and apparently, the professional vendor services make proprietary software outshine open source software. And The biggest advantage of open source is of price and source code availability.
