Integrating cloud with legacy systems

Cloud migration is a significant technology shift. Businesses need their systems to run together and share information. Due to the flexible architecture of the cloud, it is easier to integrate systems. Like you have mentioned iSaas, the cloud-based technology requires Saas to accomplish this. The problematic level of migrating the existing system depends on various factors and most conclusively on the complexity of the legacy system.

Today, there is the availability of various approaches and tools that handle the difficulty of integrating legacy systems to the cloud.  Welton (2016) states “If it is a one-to-one integration and data is flowing one way, leveraging a web services API may make the most sense. If you have several integrations and they require data to flow both directions – cloud to on-premises, on-premises to the cloud, and cloud to cloud – then Oracle’s Integration Cloud Service (ICS) may be a better option.”

If your system requires the collaboration of several legacy systems and cloud application from the same data object, then SOA cloud service is the best Solution. There are numerous options out there, but your requirements and situation better decide which one to select.

Did the readers ever get to use cloud technology for data migration? If yes, how would you rate the difficulty level and the challenges faced in both the scenarios?
